And where you will act fast and drive results for customers and patients.  Power your future & join our bold team.   Position Overview   Job Summary: Under minimal guidance, supports and promotes the role of the Global Pharmaceutical Technology Department.  Conceives and executes technical plans to support analytical activities including investigations on marketed products and APIs, as well as method development, optimization, and validation.  Leads analytical technical execution to meet organizational objectives and serves as a subject matter expert and resource for the overall operations organization.  Participates in project coordination activities and provides training and mentorship to lower level staff.   Supervisory responsibility: Carries out limited managerial responsibilities (0-3 direct reports) in accordance with the organization's policies, procedures, and state, federal and local laws.   Key Duties and Responsibilities:   Develops and executes analytical methods and test plans to provide a technical basis for developing and evaluating new or improved products, processes, and analytical/physical testing techniques; works independently with minimal supervision.   Oversees, reviews, and/or participates in analytical methods development, method validation protocols and reports, and analytical method transfer plans, making recommendations for changes and/or improvements.   Provides expert evaluation of chemical and physical testing methods developed at other labs and provides and executes remediation recommendation and plans.  Works cross-functionally with R&D, Product Development, and other departments, as well as internally with Process Technology colleagues, to solve process and analytical related issues.   Participates in establishing and contributing towards budgets, schedules, and performance standards as related to laboratory operations.  Represents the organizational unit as an internal and external contact on analytical technical issues.  Provides input to meet department objectives, as related to analytical technology issues.   Provides input towards setting organizational objectives and interprets progress of projects.  Reports progress of research work and significance of results. Recommends utilization of the results or changes in the scope of work.   Responsible for training, developing, and advising staff.  Conducts and/or participates in briefings and technical meetings with management and interacts with equivalent level colleagues concerning matters of significance to the company.   Ensures compliance with all Company policies and procedures, including safety rules and regulations.  Performs related duties as assigned.       Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree in a science-related field from an accredited college or university with 10+ years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.  Graduate degree preferred.     Knowledge of:                                                             o    Multiple analytical instruments and analysis technologies o    Pertinent federal, state and local laws, codes and regulations, including current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP), and FDA, EU, and other regulatory agency requirements o    Leadership, direction, and supervisory principles and methods       Project management principles       Business and personal computer hardware and software applications   Skill in:     Handling multiple projects, duties and assignments, and developing, executing, and reporting on projects independently.     Interpreting and applying federal, state and local policies, procedures and regulations.     Developing and coordinating assignments and reviewing the work of other scientists.     Communicating clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.     Establishing and maintaining cooperative working relationships with others.     Analytical method development and validation of physical test methods for drug substances, excipients, and various drug product dosage forms (e.g., powders, suspensions, tablets, capsules, emulsions).     Expertise and/or experience in several of the following analytical techniques:         Dissolution, HPLC, UPLC, GC, LC-MS, GC-MS, FTIR, Raman, DSC, TGA, TLC, surface area analysis, PSD by laser diffraction, rheology, and other physical and wet chemical analyses of drug products and APIs.         Expertise in dissolution techniques, IVIVC, etc, is preferred. #LI-WK1 Equal Employment Opportunity Employer Allergan is an equal opportunity employer. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
